Knee(Audio)Pads

The Knee(Audio)Pads are knee pads made for people like me, who are always drumming and playing beats on their knees. This device is a wearable MIDI controller which maps played beats to a sound set on the computer. This provides the user a much more natural interface than using a keyboard controller or finger pads.

The Knee(Audio)Pads has four components: the left knee holds a drum pad and a control knob, the right knee holds two drum pads, and the feet each hold a single drum pad. All components are connected to a BASIC stamp which converts the collected data into MIDI signals which are then sent to the computer. The user can use any application to read these signals and generate sounds out of them.
